The Waits view identifies all waits that occurred on the selected SQL Server instance, as of the last refresh, as well as their key performance metrics and any quick findings that would help decrease the number of waits and improve your overall server performance.

These statistics and findings represent the state of waits on this server during the specified time range. The time-range spans from the reset time to the last refresh time. To change the reset time to your current time, click Reset.

Although the metric descriptions and categories are provided by SQL Doctor, the performance metrics are collected from the Dynamic Management View (DMV) sys.dm_os_wait_stats. For more information about individual metrics, see the Microsoft article sys.dm_os_wait_stats (Transact-SQL).
