By default the IDERA Schema Compare for Oracle Database exposes a wide variety of options to let you tweak the way the comparison engine works. From ignoring white spaces to performing automated file group translation you have control over it all. The default options have been carefully selected to match the most common scenarios however, every SQL Server implementation is different and there is no "one size fits all" scenario.

When an object is found to be different by the comparison engine while you believe it should be equal, or the other way around, don't panic - investigate the differences and carefully review those options - more likely than not one of those options holds the answer to your surprise.

Rule of thumb: whenever you are not sure what options would be better for your scenario, click Default Options.

includes almost all elements in the synchronization script, however, a large number of scripting options allow the user to exclude any element they want.  For example the user may decide that h/she does not want to script parallelism, or column encryption, or Xml Storage etc.

The scripting options are self-explanatory. A checked option indicates that that particular element is scripted whereas, un-checking or clearing the option causes the exclusion of that element from the synchronization script. Similar to Comparison Options, the Scripting Options are separated into two tabs, the first one contains the more common options and the second tab (Advanced Scripting Options) contains less common options that most users would not need to change.
