SQL Enterprise Job Manager lets allows you to see the specific details for a selected Job. This view includes all your job information across all instances it is associated with it

To access this view, click the name of the Job on any section of the console. In the Job Details view, you can find the Jobs tab and a new page opens displaying your Job Details with the following sections:

Job Alerts

In this section, you can view all alerts related to your job across all instances it is associated with it. The alerts in this section are ordered by level of severity and grouped by alert rule.

In the Alerts section, you can perform the following actions:

  • Sort by Severity Severity - use Use this option to order your alerts by severity.   SQL SQL Enterprise Job Manager displays four levels of alerts alert severity, also identified with colors: Critical (red), Warning (yellow), Informational (gray), and OK (green).  
  • Hide Alerts -  select   Select this option if you do not want to see any of the displayed alerts. Use Show Alerts - click this option to  to view all alerts again alerts again.

For each alert rule you can view the following options:

  • Show Details  - click By choosing this option to see ,  SQL Enterprise Job Manager shows the complete list of job event alerts that belong belongs to a specific alert rule. Use Use Hide Details to display the summarized form of the alert rule. 
  • Dismiss - to ignore - By selecting this option, SQL Enterprise Job Manager ignores the complete alert rule with their associated job alerts.  
  • Collect Data  - click By clicking this option to get ,  SQL Enterprise Job Manage gets the latest information available on the job alert.

When you choose to Show Details of a specific alert rule, you can see all job events associated with that specific alert rule.  For For each job event you can:

  • Start Job at Step - use the drop-down options to select an a specific step to start the job again.
  • Dismiss - click this option to ignore the job event alert.
  • Collect Data - use this option to get the latest information on the job event alert.
Warning

When you Dismiss an alert, it will not be displayed on the alerts section temporarily. SQL Enterprise Job Manager will raise the alert when the alert rule condition of the respective job event is triggered again.

Job Schedule

In this section, you can view the schedule information of your job for the current day. Use the option View Full Schedule on the top right section, to access the Schedule tab. 

Job History 

In the lower section of your Job Details view, you can see the job history information across all instances it is related to. In this section you can view the following information. There is a grid list displaying your job schedule details:

  • Status -  displays Displays the status of each job event (every time the job runs)
  • Date/Time -  displays Displays the date and time of each job event, including the time zone. 
  • Duration -  shows Shows the duration in hh:mm:ss of each job event (total duration of all steps executed for that job event).
  • Instance -  displays Displays the name of the SQL Server instance where the job ranrun.
  • Job Name -  displays Displays the name of the job.
  • Message  displays Displays additional information about the job event: status, schedule used, the last step ran, etc

This Additionally, this section allows you to drill into any job event and see more specific information about its steps. Click the  button to expand and view the following information of each step:

  • Status - displays  Displays the status of each step.
  • Date/Time -  shows Shows the date, time, and timezone when the step is finished.
  • Step ID - displays  Displays the identification number (ID) of each step.
  • Step Name - displays  Displays the name of the step. 
  • Message - shows  Shows additional information about the step.

Tip

Keep in mind:

  • You can sort the information available on this tab by clicking the column header by which you want to order your jobs.
  • Click the Image Added more options icon to select the information you want to hide or show on the Job Overlap view list.
  • You can define how many jobs you want to view per page. Go to the bottom section of the tab and type the number of jobs you want to see per page.

On the top right of this section, you can use the following tabs to access other job views:

  • View Full Schedule - Select this option to access the Schedule tab and explore your scheduled jobs. For more information, go to Viewing your jobs on the Schedule tab.
  • Job Overlap Viewer - Select this option to see which jobs are overlapped: running or scheduled to run at the same time across your registered SQL Server instances. For more information, go to Job Overlap Viewer.
