Limited Support Notes

SQL Safe has not yet completed formal certification for Microsoft SQL Server 2025 and Windows Server 2025. These platforms are not yet part of SQL Safe's certified compatibility matrix.

In testing, core SQL Safe functionality, including backup and restore operations, is generally expected to operate against SQL Server 2025. However, because certification is not complete, use on these platforms is at the customer's discretion and is not yet covered by our standard support commitment.

Known issues on these platforms include:

  • Windows Server 2025. Agent deployment from the SQL Safe Management Console is not currently functional. Agents must be deployed manually as a workaround.
  • Instant Restore. Instant Restore operations have known problems on this platform and should not be relied upon.

In addition, new capabilities introduced in SQL Server 2025 are not yet supported, such as:

  • Backups on Availability Group secondary replicas
  • Contained Availability Groups
  • ZSTD backup compression
  • immutable/WORM cloud backup targets
  • json/vector/DiskANN handling in Object-Level Recovery

Support for these features is in active development.

Full certified support for SQL Server 2025, including resolution of the known issues above, will be confirmed in a future SQL Safe release and published through our standard release notes and updated compatibility matrix.
