The most common cause of this error code is that the Name specified in the System field during connect does not exist in the LANSA Routing table.
Check that you have correctly entered the Name and check that the routing table entry exists. For information, refer to Connect to Host and Connect/Disconnect to the host, in the Web Administration Guide.
Another common cause of this error code is that the LANSA Listener is not active. You could:
- Set Up Listener on the Data/Application Server as described in the Web Administration Guide.
or
- Restart the listener.
- For IBM i: re-start the subsystem: STRSBS HLOPGMLIB/HLOPGMLIB.
- For Windows, follow the steps in the LANSA Communications Administrator Guide in Visual LANSA Listener Configuration and press the Start Listener button.
You may also receive this error if the:
- port you are attempting to use is blocked or not open. That is, are you connecting to the LANSA Web Administrator from an outside network and going through a firewall and port 4545 (default) is not open. Check with your network administrator to determine if a firewall is blocking the port specified in your Host Routes Table.
- incorrect communications method has been specified (that is, APPC instead of TCP/IP). In this case, check the Server configuration. Sometimes this will generate an LCE0052 error, which usually also causes error WCPIC32.dll not found, that is, it thinks you are trying to use APPC.
- communications method not set to SOCKET.
