The OS Memory Usage (Percent= ) alert provides the percentage of physical and virtual memory. Consistentl= y high Total Memory Usage could indicate either:
The Memory view on the Resources tab allo= ws you to track the Total Memory usage along with other key memory statisti= cs on the computer hosting your SQL Server instance.
A high percentage of Total Memory Usage i= ndicates a memory bottleneck. To investigate this issue, open the Memory vi= ew on the Resources tab to view how memory is utilized on your SQL Server i= nstance. You may need to allocate more memory to SQL Server to increase you= r SQL Server performance, or limit the usage of other applications on the c= omputer hosting your SQL Server instance.
To enable alerting when this metric is outside its established baseline,= click the Baseline Thresholds Enabled (as percentage of baseline)<= /strong> check box in the Alert Configuration window.
