The Services tab allows you to vi= ew the status and manage your SQL Server services including the follow= ing services:
The Start and Stop service actions are not supported for virtual SQL Ser= ver instances or instances located on a Windows cluster node. To start or s= top a service on a virtual SQL Server 2008 instance, use the Microsoft= Failover Cluster Management tool. For SQL Server 2005 or earlier, use the = Microsoft Cluster Administrator tool to manage services.
SQL Diagnostic Manager provides two paths= to access the Services tab. The first access path is by clicking the appro= priate monitored SQL Server instance, and then clicking the Services t= ab. The second access path is by expanding the Servers tree, and then click= ing the Services for the appropriate instance.
The following alerts are associated with the Services tab:
The active node of th= e cluster is a non-preferred node. You can configure the preferred node und= er Server Properties > = Cluster Settings.
There is a change in the active node. Thi= s alert remains active for the amount of time specified in the advanced set= tings for that alert.
Time in seconds that a replication transa= ction is holding at the Publisher and waiting for a Distributor.
Displays the status of the Distributed Tr= ansaction Coordinator service.
Displays the status of the Full-Text Sear= ch service.
The number of hours beyond which the Full= -Text Catalog statistics data is considered outdated.
The number of transactions not written to= the Distribution database.
Provides the status of the Agent Job Comp=
letion metric. Values for this alert include Succeeded, Retry,
Indicates that a scheduled job processed = by the SQL Server Agent service ended abnormally.
Provides the maximum number of minutes us= ed to complete a scheduled SQL Server Agent job.
Indicates the percentage of time a schedu= led job is using over what it normally uses to complete the job.
Displays the status of the SQL Server Age= nt service.
Displays the status of the SQL Server Act= ive Directory Helper service.
Displays the status of the SQL Server Bro= wser service.
Displays the status of the SQL Server ser= vice.
The number of non-subscribed transactions= written to the Distribution database.
The number of seconds a transaction writt= en to the database waits before subscription.
