Highlight actions in Visual Analytics offer the advantage of focusing on selected chart segments. Visual Analytics makes the highlighted chart segments, and its data labels prominent while dimming others in the view. You can highlight chart segments from the chart view or color/shape legends.

In a chart view containing multiple charts, when you highlight a segment of a specific chart, Visual Analytics highlights the chart segments in all charts for the highlighted dimension record.
Color/Shape Legend Highlight Actions
You can emphasize selected records in the view via color and shape legends. By choosing records in the color/shape legend, Visual Analytics highlights chart segments associated with the selected records while dimming others. To select multiple records, simply hold down the Ctrl/Command key on your keyboard and click specific records in the legend.

Aggregate Functions
Visual Analytics calculates Count, Count Num, CountD, Avg, Min, Max and Std Dev functions on the highlighted segments. Initially, Visual Analytics only displays the total sum of the highlighted segments, but you can see more calculations by right-clicking on the aggregate functions displayed at the bottom of the Visual Analytics window and choosing the desired functions.
