In WhereScape 3D, we have the ability to lock a version that we are working on. A version that is locked cannot be opened by another user.
Locking a Version

When you open a version for whatever reason, it will automatically become locked. |
To lock a version manually:
- Right-click on the version and choose Lock>Obtain lock.
- Click Yes to on the Confirmation dialog.
- The version is now shown as locked.
Releasing a Lock on a Version
To release a lock on a version manually:
- Right-click on the version and choose Lock, then Release lock.
- Click Yes to confirm the release.
- The version is no longer shown as locked.
Changing the Expire Policy of a Lock
To change the Expire policy on a lock:
- Right-click on the version and select Lock>Change expire policy.
- Select a Expire policy from the drop-down list and click OK.
Note title Note You can change the expire policy of all locks currently held in a category by right-clicking on the category and selecting Locks>Change expire policy for models.
Showing the Lock Information
To show the information on a lock:
- Right-click on a version and choose Lock, then Show lock information.
- The following dialog will be displayed, click OK to close.
- Right-click on a version and choose Lock, then Show lock information.
