After you have added add pSeries servers (whether managed by an HMC or not) to Uptime Infrastructure Monitor, you can add the individual LPARs from those systems. While Uptime Infrastructure Monitor UIM collects workload data from all LPARs on a pSeries server that have the Uptime Infrastructure Monitor UIM agent installed (whether they have been added to Uptime Infrastructure Monitor or notUIM), adding LPARs can help you keep track of specific LPARs for workload and service monitoring.
After installing the agent on your LPAR, add it to Uptime Infrastructure Monitor for monitoring with the following steps:
- In the My Infrastructure tab, click the name of the pSeries server that contains the LPAR that you want to monitor. A new window containing information about the system will appearappears.
- Click the Info tab, and then click Logical Partitions. A list of LPARs will appear appears in the sub-panel.
- Click the Click Add to Uptime button beside the LPAR that you want to add. The Add System window will appearappears.
- If necessary, you can change any of the following options: Display
