Ensure that the system-wide PATH environment variable includes the path to the GIT CMD executable (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Git\cmd"):

Make sure the following user-level PATH entries exist: 

  • C:\Program Files\Git\cmd\ 
  • C:\Program Files\Git\bin\
