  1. Run the Idera Dashboard installation file on your respective server.

  2. Click Next to the Welcome Wizard.
  3. Click “Next” at the Wizard’s welcome screen.
  4. Accept the Terms and Conditions and click “Next” Next.
  5. Select Install “Idera IDERA Dashboard Locally” locally and Click “Next”click Next.
  6. Select the folder where you want to install IDERA Dashboard to and click “Next” Next.
  7. Enter the service account username and password and click “Next” Next.
  8. Select the ports that you want wnat to host the Idera IDERA Dashboard services on and click “Next” Next.
  9. Select the SQL Server Instance which has been configured for High Availability and click Next.
  10. On the next wizard click Install.
  11. Click Finish Click Install on the final screenwizard.

 Configuring SQL SERVER Database for High AvailabilAvailability

  1. Go to SQL Server Management Studio from a local machine or a remote machine on the same network and connect to the cluster environment’s SQL Server Instance.

  2. Under “Databases”, Right-Click Databases, right click on the Idera IDERA Dashboard repository and click “properties”properties.
  3. Go to the “Options” options tab from the Left left hand side and set the Recovery recovery model to “Full”full
  4. Save save the changes by clicking “OK”
  5. Now right-click on the repository and under Tasks, select “Back Up..”

  6. Select “FULL” backup type and click “Ok”ok
  7. After the backup is complete , Go to ‘Always ON High Availability’go to Always on High Availability, and under ‘Availability Group’, Select “Add Database..” Availibity Group select Add Database
  8. This opens wizard. Click ‘Next’ on the WizardClick Next on the wizard
  9. Select the Idera IDERA Dashboard Repository and click “Next”Click Next.
  10. Select “Full” Full data synchronization preference and click “Next” Next
  11. Connect to all the secondary nodes and click “Next” Next
  12. Let the validation run and click ‘Next’ Next.
  13. Click ‘Finish’ Finish
  14. When the wizard completes click “Close” close

5: Checking Failover of Database

When the Installation is successful, we should be able to access the Idera IDERA Dashboard from the desktop shortcut

The Idera IDERA Dashboard should appear on the default browser

We can install any IDERA product of choice over this Idera IDERA Dashboard. In this instance, the SQL Inventory Manager has been installed.

1 - Manual Failover from SQL Server Management Studio.

Steps:

  1. Failover the Availability Group from SQLServer Management Studio From the primary node.

  2. Click “Next”

  3. Select an appropriate failover node and click “Next”

  4. Connect to the respective node and click “Next”

  5. Click “Finish”

  6. Click “Close”

  7. Now continue to browse Idera Dashboard. The application will be unaffected.

2 - Failover from Windows Failover Cluster Manager

  1. Go to Roles Tab of  Windows Failover Cluster Manager

  2. Right-Click on the Availability Group where the Dashboard repository has been configured and select Move to Best Possible node.

  3. Continue browsing the Idera Dashboard application. The application will be functioning normally.
