1. From the "Server Name" drop-down menu, select the server on which the vCenter Server Collector will be located.
2. Click Add to enter the name of a server not on the list. For more information, see  see Adding a new server on page 44.
3. From the "Instance Server" drop-down menu, select the server running the vCenter Server.
4. In the "Port" text box, enter the Port of the vCenter Server instance.
5. In the "Login" text box, enter the name of the user who has permissions for the vCenter server. You can either use an existing user with administrator privileges or have your vCenter Server administrator create a special client for Precise.
6. In the "Password" text box, enter the password.
7. When you want to define a connection certificate:
   1. Mark the "Use SSL" check box.
   2. Mark the "Use certification" check box.
8. Click Next.
