Which format should you choose to perform your backup?
Depending on the backup policy you are creating choose needs of the backup policy format you need. This section provides you . The option to select between SQL Safe file format and native SQL Server file format is available. The Format option provides two options, ".safe” and “.bak”SQL Safe" and "SQL Server".

For native backups use ".bak" format. Use ".safe" format for other backup policies, this format is selected, by defaultSQL Server file format select "SQL Server". For SQL Safe file format, which is compatible with InstantRestore, select "SQL Safe". |
