Precise 10.0.0 is a complete Precise version, which includes and provides enhancements and fixes for Precise version 9.9.x. This topic describes the new features introduced, the technologies supported and no longer supported, and the issues resolved by this version.

New Features and Enhancements for Precise 10.0

Precise 10.0.0 includes monitoring support for the following technologies and components:

  • IIS 10.0
  • SAP ECC 6 EHP 8
  • .NET 4.62 and .NET 4.7 instances

Precise 10.0.0 includes the following new features and enhancements:

  1. Precise 10.0.0 extends the new user interface based on modern UI technologies to the Applications side of Precise. For more information about the new GUI including specific known issues and limitations, see Precise new user interface.
  2. You now can monitor SQL Server instances when using TLS 1.2 without requiring FIPS to be enabled. For more information about this feature, see Monitoring SQL Server instances with TLS 1.2 enabled.
  3. Support is added for using TLS 1.2 enabled instances as PMDB database. See Monitoring SQL Server instances with TLS 1.2 enabled for pre-requisites for this feature.
  4. Support is added for monitoring SQL Server instances configured in an Always On environment. See SQL Server Always On  for more details.
  5. Addition metrics related to In-Memory capability has been added when monitoring Oracle 12.2 databases. See Oracle 12c additional metrics for details.
  6. The need for .NET 2.0 on the machine where Precise installer is run has been removed.
  7. Precise for SQL Server now uses the SQL Server Native Client 11.0 driver by default instead of the legacy SQL Server and OLEDB drivers. Due to this, we now have a prerequisite that the SQL Server Native Client 11.0 driver should be available on the following machines:
    1. Servers from which SQL Server instances are monitored;
    2. Machine from where framework installation is run;
    3. Machines on which Precise Focal Point, PMDB Focal Point and Precise for SQL Server Focal Points are installed
