The profiling method for a source system can be set in the Create Source System dialog or by right-clicking on an existing source system and choosing properties. REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Models/Setting the Discovery Method.png

  2. Information about the connection and the referenced RDBMS system are shown in the top half of the dialog. The Vendor and Version string or Version number are used to derive the valid discovery methods.

  • If the connection is dropped during profiling the whole process will fail and will need to be run again from the start. As this can sometimes be undesirable, for example when running profiling overnight on a database that will be unavailable for a period of time while it is being backed up, you can set the number of minutes to retry the connection for before failing using
