Auto Refresh

An auto-refresh option feature has been added that enables users to view the latest information on Instances, Health Checks Recommendations, and general  information on all SQL Elements tabs. The interval for this auto-refresh option can be customized by following these instructions.  

Discovery Instances options

When using the option to Discover instances on demand in the Discovered tab, users can now select one or the two of the following methods for discovery: 

  • Discover Instances Browser Service - to discover all available SQL Server instances available within the local network
  • Discover Instances Odbc -  to get the list of SQL Server instances from the system's registry data 

Expanded Discovery & Registration

  • The SQL Server instances discovery capabilities have been expanded to include domains and IP address ranges. These capabilities offer full discovery coverage for larger and more complex environments.  
  • The discovery process accomodates additional discovery methods on both standard and custom TCP ports. 
  • Ability to  schedule environment scans to suit specific days or timeframes as needed with flexible scheduling capabilities for both browser service and computer scans. 
  • New option for importing lists of SQL Server instances for registration.
  • The auto-registration process has been improved to allow users specify which SQL Server editions will be automatically monitored.

Reporting

  • View inventory reports grouped by server attributes and annotations.
  • Capability to export and print server inventory and health check recommendation reports as needed.

New Views

  • New SQL licensing view that displays SQL Servers versions, how many instances they host, how many CPUs, etc., and the most important information to ensure adherence to Microsoft licensing compliance. This view is exportable and will help your internal licensing team as needed.
