 Significant Features in Version 9.0.

...

4.0

The following enhancements have been made since Version 9.0.23.10.

  • Conversion properties.
  • Pebble templating updates.
  • Performance improvements.
  • DevOps enhancements.

Conversion properties

Conversion properties which help users manage configurations within model conversion rules can now be defined using Pebble templates. This enhancement makes conversion properties even more powerful and allows for individual model conversion rules to be executed multiple times in an iterative manner.

Pebble templating updates

Added the ability to access a list of dependent entities and attributes within Pebble templates. In addition a wider selection of information about categories and models is now accessible from within Pebble templates.

Performance improvements

There have been significant improvements to the execution speeds of all model conversion rules. These improvements will be particularly noticeable when working with remote repositories. Future versions of WhereScape 3D will continue to provide further performance improvements.

Configurable workflows

User defined workflows can now accommodate a larger range of use cases. Workflow buttons can now be configured to validate models and perform complex conversions with ease.

DevOps enhancements

  • Microsoft Purview Integration
  • Enhanced data profiling capabilities

Microsoft Purview Integration

Metadata can now be imported from Microsoft Purview, which enhances WhereScape's offering for Microsoft
Fabric customers. Information stored in the Purview data catalogue can now feed into WhereScape 3D's design
automation processes. This feature allows for yet another step in the data warehouse design process to be
automated.

Enhanced data profiling capabilities

WhereScape 3D can now perform data profiling on a wider range of source systems. There is also more flexibility
in how profiling results can be leveraged in WhereScape's design automation processes. For example attribute
types could be assigned based on data profiling results and rate of change of source data. Advanced data profiling
on source systems such as Salesforce, Google Cloud and Azure Datalake Storage will be performed using
WhereScape enablement packs.Several improvements have been made to the WhereScape 3D CLI, which will enhance user experience when creating custom workflow scripts. These features provide an enhanced experience when creating repositories or manipulating repository configurations as part of DevOps processes.
