QL Inventory Manager The Users and Principals  dialog provides a general overview of the logins, roles, users and roles for SQL Server instances and databases. This overview lists some basic information that allows users to better classify and identify discovered instances. It also provides  a useful context  

when users look at an instance.

Users of SQL Inventory Manager need to see a general overview of the users and roles for SQL Server instances and databases. This is some of the basic information that a user may need when initially classifying and identifying the instance after discovery, and further it gives useful context when a user is looking at an instance under management

Provide users and security profile at the database and instance levels

, and schemas at either Instance Level or Database Level. 

Accessing the Users and Principals view.

There are two ways to access the Users and Principals view. 

From the Instance Summary section

• Go to the instance summary section.
• Select an instance.
• On the Instance Summary panel, click View Instance Principals. This opens the Users and Principals dialog at the instance level view. 

From the Database dialog

• Go to the instance summary section.
• Select an instance.
• Go to the Databases section and select a database
• Click View Database Principals under the Security Information Section. This opens the Users and Principals dialog at the database level view.
