Use the following information and instructions to successfully deploy the the SafeToSQL utility  utility in your production SQL Server environment.

Requirements

Installing and running running SafeToSQL requires  requires .NET Framework 4.0 or higher, but does not require that you install SQL Safe. Because SafeToSQL will expand .

The SafeToSQL utility will convert your SQL Safe backups to the same size as native backups, you backup files to uncompressed native backup files. You should ensure adequate disk space is available for the converted backups.

How to install SafeToSQL

You can install the SafeToSQL utility from the main setup program.

When you install the SQL Safe Full version, the SafeTOSQL utility is installed automatically. The utility is located in the SafeToSQL sub-directory of the main SQL Safe installation directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\IDERA\SQLsafe\SafeToSQL).

If you want to install SafeToSQL on different servers, locate the SafeToSQL installation file (“Idera SafeToSQL x64.exe”) in the installation directory of the SQL Safe Management Console (e.g. C:\Program Files\IDERA\SQLsafe).

Then, follow these stepsTo install SafeToSQL:

1. Log on with an administrator account to the computer on which you want to install install SafeToSQL.
2. Run Setup.exe in the root of the installation kit or click SafeToSQL Utility on the Install section of the Welcome windowCopy the “Idera SafeToSQL x64.exe” file onto the server and run it.
3. Read the Welcome window, and then click click Next.
4. Review and accept the license agreement by selecting I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click click Next.
5. Choose the destination folder, and then click click Next.
6. Click Install.
