To access the cloud instances discovery options click Cloud on the left pane of the Discovery Center Options view.
Discovering Amazon Instances
The Amazon tab on the Cloud Discovery Settings section allows you to set and edit Amazon accounts for discovering instances. To add an account click Add Amazon Account and follow these steps:

Before you begin
Make sure you perform these steps before adding an Amazon account on SIM.
- Create an AWS account as trusted entity for read-only role on the main AWS account where SQL Inventory Manager discovery will be running.
- Create a read-only role on the user’s main AWS account (where SQL Inventory Manager discovery will be running)
Adding an Amazon account
Click Add Amazon Account and enter the following information on the Amazon Account dialog.

Discovering Azure Instances
SQL Inventory Manager retrieves the majority of the metrics using SQL Scripts but retrieving performance metrics require the use of API calls.
There are two scenarios when discovering instances:
Scenario 1: Instance is discovered using cloud account. In this case, the account is already associated with this instance so API calls will be using this account
Scenario 2: Instance is not discovered, but added directly from add instance screen in this case, API calls will be using account details added via add instance wizard
