Disabling an alert allows you to temporarily stop alerting on a specific event or status. For example, you can disable alerting on audit data from a specific SQL Server instance or database by disabling the corresponding Event Alert rule. When you disable alerting, IDERA SQL Compliance Manager stops generating alerts against the audit data or operational status specified by the alert rule criteria but leaves the alert rule and previously generated alert messages intact. For example, SQL CM Compliance Manager continues auditing SQL Server events on the specified instances and databases.
