1. Verify that all planning and preparations as listed in  have been completedPlanning the upgrade are complete.

2. Download Precise v9.6.1 2 from the Precise Customer Support Portal at https://precise.secure.force.com.

   InfoIf you are updating to Precise v9.6.1 from the DVD provided by Precise, downloading and unzipping the product is not needed

3. Complete the update procedure on the desired server(s). See “Applying the v9.5 to v9.6 update” on page 9.

OR

1. Complete the update procedure on the desired server(s) using the Precise CLI utility. See “Applying the update with the CLI utility” on page 10.

2. Verify that your Precise system is working properly. If you experience any problems,

To apply the update on Precise servers

1. Go to AdminPoint >Setup> U pd ates and > Setup > Updates, and then select Apply U pdat es. The Update Installation wizard opens.
2. In the “Select Updates” screenSelect Updates dialog box, click Add U pdate, and enter then type the \Upgrade v9.0.0 to v9.0.1\Upgrade\Upgrade to v9.6.1\Upgrade.zip file path from the folder you unzipped the v9.6.1 2 download to, or OR click the browse Browse button and , select the path, and then click OK. The update will appear appears in the “Available Updates” Available Updates table.

3. Select the V961 V962_UPGRADE update from the Available Updates table, and , using then click the appropriate arrows between the tables , to move it to the Updates to apply Apply table.

   Once this step has been successfully completedis complete, the update is saved in the Available Updates table. If , after this step has been successfully completed, the application process is restarted or repeated for any reason, skip this step.

1. Click Ne xt Next. The Select servers screen will appear. This screen displays a list of all the servers to be updated.

   By default, all displayed servers will be are selected to be updated. According to your preparation, as mentioned in The order of the servers update on page 7, you can choose to exclude servers which you do not want to update at this point by clearing their selection.
