In WhereScape 3D, we have the ability to lock a version that we are working on. A version that is locked cannot be opened by another user.

Locking a Version

To lock a version manually:

1. Right-click on the version and choose Lock>Obtain lock.
   
2. Click Yes to on the Confirmation dialog.
   
3. The version is now shown as locked.
   

Releasing a Lock on a Version

To release a lock on a version manually:

1. Right-click on the version and choose Lock, then Release lock.
   
2. Click Yes to confirm the release.
   
3. The version is no longer shown as locked.

Changing the Expire Policy of a Lock

To change the Expire policy on a lock:

1. Right-click on the version and select Lock>Change expire policy.
   
2. Select a Expire policy from the drop-down list and click OK.
   
   

   Note

   You can change the expire policy of all locks currently held in a category by right-clicking on the category and selecting Locks>Change expire policy for models.

   

   Showing the Lock Information

   To show the information on a lock:

   1. Right-click on a version and choose Lock, then Show lock information.
      
   2. The following dialog will be displayed, click OK to close.
