The existing data warehouse model can be used to document an existing data warehouse.
After discovering the structure of an existing data warehouse, you can assign table types to entities in order to distinguish between dimensions, facts, data stores and other types of star schema tables and views.
At the end of the design process, a word document describing the data warehouse can be generated.
Data warehouse models have the following main settings:

  • A connection to an existing data warehouse
  • Relations between attributes
  • Basic predefined entity types
