The main window typically has five active panes. All of these panes can be dragged out of their docking positions and placed elsewhere.

Screen Panes

Description

Repositories Pane

Contains the Repositories and the Categories within the repositories.

Workflow

Displays a grid of buttons for commonly used functions. The functions shown are dependent on the type of model you are working in.

Workspace

Area where a model can be displayed as a diagram.

Properties

Displays the profiling information on a table or on a column (once a system has been profiled). Right-click on the table or column within the diagram and then scroll down the right pane to view the profiling information.

Overview

Displays an overview of the diagram displayed in the middle pane. Holding the left mouse down on the highlighted block and then moving the mouse enables you to move around within the diagram as desired, changing the display in the middle pane accordingly. Clicking on the overview diagram and scrolling your mouse wheel enables you to zoom in and out the highlighted block. If a table has been selected in a model, it is highlighted blue in the overview diagram.


Note

To reset the window and bring back all the panes, select Reset layout from the View menu option, as shown in the following screenshot:
