Assigning Attribute Types Wizard

The Assign Attribute Type Wizard enables you to bulk assign attribute types across a model thus helping you to quickly mark up a model with the attribute type.
To assign attribute types for a model or to create a new definition...

Select a model version in the tree and select REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/attribute_type_assign.png Assign attribute types from the Workflow pane.The Assign attribute types - Select entities dialog is displayed.

Select the entities and click Next>.The Assign attributes types - Define assigning definition dialog is displayed.

Options	Icons	Definition
Definition	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/addqueryicon.png	Click to Create and Save a new definition.
	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/renamequeryicon.png	Click to Rename the selected definition.
	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/removequeryicon.png	Click to Delete the selected definition.
	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/import.png	Click to Import a definition.
Tip
Clicking the Import icon displays the Import dialog, where you can an XML file containing preciously exported definition to be imported.
	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/saveicon.png	Click to Export the selected definition.
Tip
Clicking the Export icon displays the Export definitions dialog, where you can select all the definitions you want to export and save on your location machine.
Attribute types	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/addqueryicon.png	Click to Add an attribute type.
	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/removequeryicon.png	Click to Delete the selected attribute type.
	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/up.png	Click to move the selected attribute type a level Up.
	REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/down.png	Click to move the selected attribute type a level Down.
Configuration Pane		Define a set of matchers for a attribute type.

Note
WhereScape provided Definitions cannot be edited or deleted.

1. To Add Attribute types to a Definition...

- - Select a Definition from the drop-down list.
  - Click REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/addqueryicon.png in the Attribute types pane.
  - Select an attribute type from the Assign attribute type drop-down list and define a set of rules for a given attribute type.
    - Select the Add to existing attribute types or Set as new attribute type radio button.
  - Select the Match all of the conditions (AND) or Match any of the conditions (OR) radio button and set the matching criteria.
  - Click the Next button.The Assign attribute types complete dialog is displayed.

The status of the individual processes are indicated as they are processed.

- - Click Next.

The Assign attribute types - Review attribute types dialog is displayed.

Review the attribute types and make any final changes to the attributes types that are to be assigned.

- - Click Assign to assign the attribute types.

Click REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/addqueryicon.png in the Attribute types pane.

Tip
If you want to reuse attributes types from an existing definition, select a definition from the Definition drop-down list and then click REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/addqueryicon.png in the Attribute types pane.

Select an attribute type from the Assign attribute type drop-down list and define a set of rules for a given attribute type.
- Select the Add to existing attribute types or Set as new attribute type radio button.
Select the Match all of the conditions (AND) or Match any of the conditions (OR) radio button and set the matching criteria.
Click REPLACE WITH THIS IMAGE: Images/Common_Icons/addqueryicon.png in the Definition area.

The Save definition dialog is displayed.

- - Enter a name of the new definition and click OK.
    
    Tip
    
    You can also enter the name of an existing definition to overwrite it.
