Each Uptime Infrastructure Monitor component (data collector, user interface and database) can run on different physical servers with different operating systems.
The UIM components communicate via a standard TCP regardless of which OS is used. For example, the you can install the UIM monitoring station on a Linux platform while the database uses SQL Server running on a Windows platform.
