This release of DB PowerStudio allows users to connect to PostgreSQL through Azure Active Directory.

Adds support for PostgreSQL profiling in DB Optimizer

DB Optimizer 18.6 allows users to select PostgreSQL for a profiling session.

Adds multi-factor authentication for MS SQL Server in DB Optimizer and DB Change Manager

DB Optimizer and DB Change Manager users now can use multi-factor authentication for Microsoft SQL Server.

This release of DB PowerStudio includes binary column support for Db2 for LUW, which enhances efficiency, performance, and storage utilization in DBArtisan, DB Change Manager, and Rapid SQL.

Improves synchronization script in DB Change Manager

When using Db2 for LUW in DB Change Manager, the synchronization script now applies the appropriate order to be more efficient.

Improves efficiency in DBArtisan, DB Change Manager, and Rapid SQL

DB PowerStudio 18.5 includes operational ease and efficiency improvements for DBArtisan, DB Change Manager, and Rapid SQL.

Updates stored procedures functionality when using Redshift

Redshift users of DBArtisan and Rapid SQL can take advantage of stored procedures which are now added to allow parameter nodes. You now can route these particular requests through the nodes if it satisfies the predicate, allowing more control for the user.

Updates supported database versions

DB PowerStudio 18.5 adds support for the following database versions:

Db2 for LUW 11.5.x (DBArtisan, DB Change Manager, and Rapid SQL)
MySQL 8.0 and later (DBArtisan and Rapid SQL)

Adds native Git support

DBArtisan and Rapid SQL now include native Git version control. You must have Git installed on the system where you want to use DB PowerStudio to utilize the native Git version control functionality.

Users may use Git version control to:

create projects
get the latest version
add a file or project
remove a file or project
check in a file or project
get history logs of files

Supports SQL Server 2022

DB PowerStudio 18.4 includes support for SQL Server 2022.

Improves space, capacity, and performance for Azure SQL and PostgreSQL

This release of DBArtisan includes updates that improve space, capacity, and performance for Azure SQL and PostgreSQL.

Includes sign-on for AzureAD for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server

DBArtisan and Rapid SQL now include sign-on capability for AzureAD for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server.

Includes support for PostgreSQL identity columns

DBArtisan and Rapid SQL now include support for PostgreSQL identity columns.

Updates Azure SQL for Data Copying in DB Change Manager

Supports the latest version of Log4j

DB PowerStudio 18.3 includes support for the latest version of Apache Log4j, which is essential for proper logging and diagnostics of applications.

Improves multiple areas within DBArtisan and Rapid SQL

DB PowerStudio 18.3 includes updates to the following areas within DBArtisan and Rapid SQL:

Extraction operations on roles for PostgreSQL allows users to have higher control over their data security.
Handling procedures with cascaded parameters on Redshift provides additional usage options with those parameters.
Connections to Azure SQL using multi-factor authentication provides more secure access.
Connections to PostgreSQL via Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) provides native connectivity for quicker access.
Reordering columns for Data Definition Language (DLL) validation allows the flexibility to rerun or reuse in scripts.

Improves multiple areas within DB Change Manager

Validation of Dump Devices, Linked Servers, Remote Servers and Server Triggers on Azure enables higher quality of those features.
Reuse of connection settings on logins when a node is accessible in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) allows faster user connections.
Fully populating database nodes on Azure for completeness.

Updates profiling session capability in DB Optimizer

DB Optimizer 18.3 updates profiling session capability, which alerts users to potentially problematic SQL ahead of time.

DBArtisan and Rapid SQL 18.1 add support for Oracle 21c and PostgreSQL 13. This release also includes a number of fixed issues that you may review in the Release Notes.
