You will use the New Install option if:

• This is your first LANSA installation. In this case, you should review the 2.2 Visual LANSA General Checklist.
• You have an existing LANSA installation that you wish to keep. This will be an additional version. You can install more than one version of the LANSA software.
• You want to change from one installation model to another. In this case, you must install a new system and move your applications to the new system. This is particularly important when moving an Independent Windows Workstation to a VCS Master.

You will use the Upgrade option to:

• replace an existing older LANSA version.

You will use the Modify or Repair an existing install option if:

• You wish to repair an existing LANSA version.

The install program will list the existing versions that are eligible for an Upgrade and which configurations can be Modified or Repaired.
