DB PowerStudio users can leverage multi-factor authentication (MFA) using the identity provider Microsoft Entra, formerly Azure Active Directory (AD), when connecting to SQL Server. When logging into SQL Server, you can gain the inherent security policies and procedures from Microsoft Entra by entering your password only once.

Users can choose from authentication types for the following databases:

• Microsoft SQL Server
  • Active Directory - Managed Identity
  • Azure Active Directory - Password
  • Azure Active Directory - Service Principal
  • Azure Active Directory - Universal with MFA
  • SQL Server Authentication
  • Windows Authentication
