1. To create artificial keys for all relationships in a model version, select an existing model version and select Generate artificial keys from the Workflow pane.
    OR
  2. To create an artificial key from the diagram, right-click on the foreign key join between two tables and choose Create artificial key.
  3. The Create artificial key dialog displays the destination table and allows you to change the name of the artificial key if required. Click OK.
  4. The purple line indicates that an artificial key has been created and the artificial key is displayed in the destination table.
  5. To have these multiple relationships displayed in the diagram as a single link, go to Tools >Settings >Repository>Category>Diagram>General and change Link connection from Attributes (which displays the links as in the diagram above), to Entities (to display the link as in the diagram below). Notice the link line is thicker and darker to show that this single line represents multiple relationships.


    Another way to create an artificial key is to drag the surrogate key attribute from the tree or the diagram to an entity's header in the diagram. The attribute will be added to the entity and a relationship will be created between the dragged attribute and the newly created attribute.
