Profiling is the process of inspecting data and collecting information about the characteristics of the data contained by a database. WhereScape 3D provides a default set of metrics to collect during profiling. Users are encouraged to alter, configure and extend the metrics to be collected.
This option enables you to edit the profiling settings for the repository.

Select one of the following profiling types:

  • Quick
  • Full
  • Custom

SQL Server

Select one of the following profiling metrics:

  • Generic - These cannot be viewed or edited.
  • WhereScape defined - contains queries and rules for profiling a specific database and database version.
  • User defined - These cannot be viewed or edited.

Teradata

Select one of the following profiling metrics:

  • Generic - These cannot be viewed or edited.
  • WhereScape defined - contains queries and rules for profiling a specific database and database version.
  • User defined - These cannot be viewed or edited.

Oracle

Select one of the following profiling metrics:

  • Generic - These cannot be viewed or edited.
  • WhereScape defined - contains queries and rules for profiling a specific database and database version.
  • User defined - These cannot be viewed or edited.

DB2

Select one of the following profiling metrics:

  • Generic - These cannot be viewed or edited.
  • WhereScape defined - contains queries and rules for profiling a specific database and database version.
  • User defined - These cannot be viewed or edited.
