RAMP is comprised of one or more 5250 Application Sessions. They are what makes the RAMP navigation model and scripting work.
There must always be one session, but you can create new ones here in RAMP Tools:
The details of your junction, destination and special 5250 screens and their associated navigation scripts are stored within the 5250 application session.

Often VLF-WIN and VLF-WEB applications have just one (or just a few) 5250 application sessions, so quickly those few sessions tend to become large and complex, often much, much more complex than this visualization:
