2.2.1 Rule Sequence

Mandatory.

Specify the sequence number for the order to perform the rules.

The sequence number is specific to the rules at the level at which the rule is defined. Rules defined in fields are evaluated before rules defined in a table.

Rules

  • Sequence numbers will always be consecutive.
  • The sequence number is automatically assigned when a rule is added. Sequence number is updated when the order of the rules is updated in the list of rules.

Tips & Techniques

  • The rule sequence number, or order that the rules are processed, is extremely important as you review the 2.2.5 Validation Actions performed for each rule.
