Before you Begin

  • The web technology is an extension of the Visual LANSA development environment. If you have Repository and RDML skills, you can apply them to building web applications with Visual LANSA.
  • Before any development efforts begin, you must have an installed and configured LANSA installation including a Web Server and LANSA Application/Data Server. Refer to the Supported Platforms and Versions for the currently supported versions of this software.
  • For details about the installation and configuration of developing web applications with Visual LANSA, refer to the Install or Upgrade on Windows or Install or Upgrade LANSA on IBM i as appropriate for your site.
  • Ensure you have appropriate LANSA licenses applied. Refer to Product Licensing for details.
  • If you are developing web applications using Visual LANSA for the first time, we recommend that you view the Web and Mobile Development Basics tutorials first.
