The supplied default WhereScape defined discovery method provides a way to discover the content of databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. It can also be used as a starting point for defining your own User defined discovery.
The Manage discovery methods menu item is used to customize the discovery methods to your needs.
Note
WhereScape defined discovery might not perform as well as the Generic discovery.
Select Manage discovery methods from the Tools menu, as shown in the following screenshot:

To customize discovery methods, the best approach is to clone the default WhereScape defined discovery method to create a User defined discovery method, which can then be modified as required. To create new User Defined Discovery Methods, refer to User Defined Discovery for details.
