For quick profiling...

  1. Select the Quick profiling radio button, the warning acceptance checkbox and click Next.
  2. Select the options to be profiled. This step is skipped when profiling a single table or column. Click Next if you want to edit the metrics to be profiled, else click Profile to skip the steps that follow and begin profiling.

    Note

    For File Connections, some of the options are disabled, as seen below:

  3. Select the metrics to be profiled. Click Next if you want to edit the table filters, else click Profile to skip the steps that follow and begin profiling.

    Note

    When profiling a single column this is the only step so click Profile.

  4. Edit the table filters. This step is skipped when profiling a single table or column. Click Next if you want to refine the table list, else click Profile to skip the steps that follow and begin profiling.
  5. Edit the table list. This step is skipped when profiling a single table or column. Click Next if you want to edit the column filters, else click Profile to skip the steps that follow and begin profiling.
  6. Edit the column filters. This step is skipped when profiling a single column. Click Next if you want to refine the column list, else click Profile to skip the last step and begin profiling.
  7. Edit the column list. This step is skipped when profiling a single column. Click Profile.
  8. The following dialog displays while the source system is being profiled.
