If you see the message, "up.time Data Collector is unavailable," when viewing details for the monitoring station, this is likely the result of a mismatch between the hostname Uptime Infrastructure Monitor is trying to use to connect the core/data collector and where the service is actually running.

The reason may be that you installed UIM for the first time, or changed the hostname of your monitoring station.

You can resolve this issue by updating the uptime.conf with the correct hostname for your server using the following steps:

  1. Edit the uptime.conf file in the Uptime Infrastructure Monitor installation directory.
  2. Modify the httpContext and monitorHost fields to point to the correct hostname for your server.
  3. Restart up.time Data Collector using the steps in Starting (or restarting) and stopping Uptime Infrastructure Monitor.
