Introducing Precise 10.4.0
Precise 10.4.0 is a complete Precise version, which specifically targets the simplification of the installation experience for Precise version 10.3.2. This topic describes the issues resolved by version 10.4.0.
Installing Precise 10.4.0
Apply Precise 10.4.0 using one of the following paths, depending upon the currently-installed Precise version:
- If this is the first time you are installing Precise, install Precise version 10.4.0 as described in Clean installation of the Precise framework.
- If Precise 10.3.2 is your currently-installed version, upgrade directly to Precise 10.4.0 as described in Upgrading Precise.

Supports SQL Server 2022
Precise 10.4 supports the Microsoft SQL Server 2022 platform. (PRECISE-19773)

- Resolves an issue preventing users form selecting an instance when creating or editing a Custom Alert. (PRECISE-19643)

Known Issues
For Precise for SQL Server, you must restart the Precise Focal Point after an upgrade if you are using remote instances. You also must start the SQL agents after the Focal Point restart.
When an Oracle monitoring instance is created immediately after framework installation, errors can occur in Oracle warehouse processes located under Adminpoint > Warehouse Processes. In such cases, restart the Oracle Focal Point and PMDB focal point to resolve the problems.
- Some of the binaries from the Precise 10.4.0 installer appear as a threat under AVG antivirus. This is a false positive with AVG and does not cause any problems. You may want to whitelist when using AVG as antivirus.
- Other issues:
- When selecting a SQL Server database during installation, some users see an error message that states, "Version 16.0.1000.6 of the database has not been certified as a supported database for PMDB." (PRECISE-19781)
- Linux Oracle users may see an error that a SQL statement fails to appear when using the New and Edit text option, and no message displays in the popup window. (PRECISE-19804)
- Peoplesoft Tuxedo agent verification occasionally results in an error. (PRECISE-19807)
- AIX and SunOS users are required to apply an Oracle 19c patch when using Precise 10.4. (PRECISE-19808)
