3.7 Table Attributes

When a table is defined in the Repository, some operating system-specific table "attributes" that influence how the table is to be set up and used can be specified. Some of the influence of the attributes:

  • How big the table is allowed to be
  • When the table is to be recovered after a system failure
  • Whether space should be allocated for the table when it is created
  • Whether or not the table is to be under commitment control
