Before you install Aqua Data Studio, make sure that your system meets the necessary OS and Hardware requirements.

Recommended OS and Hardware requirements

Mac OSX

  • Ventura, Sonoma
  • Intel, M1, M2, and M3 Processors
  • Minimum 2 GB of RAM
  • Minimum 900 MB of Disk space
  • 64 bit only

Windows

  • Windows 10 and 11
  • 1GHz x86 processor or above (Intel/AMD)
  • Minimum 2 GB of RAM
  • Minimum 900 MB of Disk space
  • 64 bit only

Ubuntu Linux

  • Ubuntu Linux 20 and 22
  • 1GHz x86 processor or above (Intel/AMD)
  • Minimum  2 GB of RAM
  • Minimum 900 MB of Disk space
  • 64 bit only


Aqua Data Studio comes with the JRE ram set to 2 gigabytes as large resultsets can consume memory quickly.  To increase RAM for Aqua Data Studio, see the "Launcher & Memory Configuration" section.

Aqua Data Studio is bundled with Java OpenJDK 11.0.21+9. This is the recommended version of Java to use.
