The Users and Principals Principals  dialog provides a general overview of logins, roles, users, and schemas, this  information has two different views Instance Level and Database Level.  database. The information  on this dialog allows users to better classify and identify discovered instances. There are two different views on the Users and Principals dialog, the instance  instance level view  view and the database level view database level view.

This is some of the basic information that a user may need when initially classifying and identifying the instance after discovery, and further it gives useful context when a user is looking at an instance under management.
