The Users and Principals  dialog provides a general overview of logins, roles, users, and schemas, this  information has two different views Instance Level and Database Level. Users can use the information the Users and Principals dialog when classifying and identifying instances after discovery

 

SQL Inventory Manager provides a general overview of logins, roles, users, and schemas for a selected instance or database. Users can use this information when classifying and identifying instances after discovery

There are two different views on the Users and Principals dialog, the instance level view and the database level view.

This is some of the basic information that a user may need when initially classifying and identifying the instance after discovery, and further it gives useful context when a user is looking at an instance under management.


Accessing the Users and Principals view.

There are two ways to access the Users and Principals view. 

From the Instance Summary section

 Select an instance and click View Instance Principals, this opens the Users and Principals dialog at the instance level view. 

From the Database dialog

Select a database and click View Database Principals, this opens the Users and Principals dialog at the database level view.
