SQL Inventory Manager now requires less permissions for data collection. Users can collect basic information from machines without the need of a sysadmin privileges. The minimum credentials required are a valid  user name and a password to connect to a machine.

To retrieve more information users need to provide valid credentials.

 

Please refer the attached spread sheet for the minimum credentials requirement.

wmi to host SQL server

Discovery credentials try to connect and see if there's SQL instance. Service or Windows account to discover Instances.
