Disaggregating measures show the distribution of individual values. In the following example, we want to know the company profit for each quarter for Mountain Bikes, Touring Bikes, and Road Bikes. When you move Profit to the Rows Deck, Order Date to the Columns Deck, and Product Category to the Color Deck and select Shape from the Chart Properties Deck, Visual Analytics automatically aggregates the profit as the sum and returns aggregated summed up value for each product based on each quarter.

You can disaggregate all measures by selecting Analysis > Aggregate Measures and seeing the underlying values of your data. In this example, Road Bikes gained the highest profit in the month of January. When you disaggregate, Visual Analytics displays the losses for this product for the same month.
