SQL Virtual Database (SQL VDB) provides the following new features and fixed issues.

2.1 New features

SQL Server 2014 Experimental Support

Users now can create virtual database from SQL Server 2014 backup files.

Removed SQL Toolbox framework

It is no longer necessary to install the SQL Toolbox framework prior to installing SQL Virtual Database.

2.1 Fixed issues

  • SQL VDB now properly displays virtual SQL Server instance names in the selection dialog box.
  • This release fixes an issue causing some users to experience queries to hang and process for hours, using large amounts of memory.
  • SQLvdbcmd now creates database files in the default database file location.
