Manual installation

To perform a manual installation:

1. Log on with an administrator account to the computer on which you want to install the SQL Diagnostic Manager desktop client console.
2. Navigate to the location where the SQL Diagnostic Manager Console file resides in the distribution media.
If you use an x64 operating system, runSQLDiagnosticManager-x64_c.exe. If you use an x86 OS, run SQLDiagnosticManager_c.exe.
3. Run Setup.exe in the root of the installation kit.
4. On the Welcome screen, click Next.

5. Review the End-User License Agreementand accept the terms and conditions and click Next.

6. On the SQL Diagnostic Manager screen, select only the SQL Diagnostic Manager Windows Console component. Click Next.

7. Specify the installation path and click Next.

8. Click Install to complete your installation with the configuration you specified.

9. On the Welcome window of the setup program, click Next.
10. Review the license agreement. To accept this license agreement, click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
11. Select the default installation location or specify a different path.
12. Choose whether you want any user or only the current user to access this application, and then click Next.
13. Verify that SQL Diagnostic Manager displays Console Only as selected, and then click Next.
14. Click Install to indicate that you are ready to complete your install with the configurations you specified.
15. Click Finish to exit the setup program.

Silent installation

To perform a silent installation, open the Command Prompt (cmd) as administrator user and use the command below:

Complete the post-installation steps

When you first open the SQL Diagnostic Manager desktop client console, you must complete the fields necessary to connect to your existing SQL Diagnostic Manager Repository.  It is important that you have the information available to connect to the proper SQL Server instance and SQL Diagnostic Manager Repository database using the proper authentication credentials.
