| Ensure your Windows logon account has local administrator permissions on the computer you intend to upgrade. |
| Review the product architecture. |
| Close all open applications on the computers you intend to upgrade. |
| Upgrade your SQL Business Intelligence Manager installation. |

To successfully upgrade SQL Business Intelligence Manager, your installation needs to be running IDERA Dashboard 2.2 or later. The installer will detect if your installation is running an earlier version of the IDERA Dashboard and display an alert suggesting you install the latest version of the IDERA Dashboard (bundled with the SQL Business Intelligence Manager installer). |
