In this step, you learn how to identify screens.
With a few exceptions, identifying screens is simple. To learn how to do this you need to know about the screen signature:

  • The signature of a screen is a string built using the screen's record format. All IBM i system command screens have the same record format (for example, the IBM i Main Menu and the Work with Active Jobs).
  • Signatures are used internally and can't be modified.

In RAMP, screens are identified by a user specified name and the screen signature. If two or more screens have identical signatures, you need to specify an additional identifier, such as the screen title.
